Woodruff Electric now offers a text messaging alert service to help keep members better informed during power outages. When enrolled for Text Message Alerts, members will generally receive notifications when:
- An outage ticket is reported at the service address on the account.
- A ticket is entered by the member, and they will receive a text with a ticket number.
The following are text verbiage include replies that you can send to the Outage Reporting Number:
- OUT: This reports an outage to the Outage Management System. You will be asked which address has the outage. You will choose the address has the outage. You will be sent a text that confirms you have reported your outage.
- STATUS: This will signal to the Outage System that you want a status update for your outage. You will receive a status update regarding your outage.
- HELP: You will receive a text that states Woodruff Electric provides automated outage notifications and how to get more information along with how to stop receiving texts
- STOP: This will opt out your mobile number from text notification service.

No. You will receive a text message only if you have reported the power out on your account or an account that you manage. Also, any time that power has been reported by someone else for your account or during large scale outages that affect your account.
If you replied STOP to a text message, you will no longer get outage alerts. In order to receive text message alerts again, you will need to update your alert settings online.
Sign up online. If you do not already have an online account, please create one. Once you are logged in, follow the prompts to complete the sign-up process for alerts. You will receive a message explaining that you have opted into the service.
Access the online portal and click on the "Manage Existing Opt In Notifications" button. Provide your WECC account number and cell phone number. Then you can add or delete cell phone numbers. You can test it by texting "Status" to (888) 559-6400.
